Give your reading a public page
Every reader gets a page at readingrate.com/u/yourname. It shows the books they have read as a timeline of covers, with progress on anything still open, a short bio and a rotating line of reading statistics. Nobody needs an account to see it. What appears is controlled section by section in your privacy settings — currently reading, completed books, statistics, quotes and your member number each have a switch, and one setting hides the profile entirely.

A list of titles is a poor thing to hand someone. Covers in the order you read them are legible at a glance, and the shape of a reading life — the gaps, the runs, the year everything changed — shows up in a way a table never manages.
Other readers can follow you from the page, which is what puts your finished books into their feed.
The iOS app has its own profile screen and can share the link to your page, so a profile is reachable from either side.
What it can't do
- Profiles are public by default. Making yours private is a setting you turn on, not one you opt into.
- Your username is claimed when you sign up on the web. It cannot be set in the iOS app, and there is no way to change it afterwards on either.
- A profile link does not produce its own preview card when posted. Social sites show the site's default image rather than your shelf.
- Clicking a book on someone else's profile does not open their notes on it. Reading journals, quotes and marginalia stay private to the person who wrote them.
- The friends-only visibility option currently behaves the same as private.
