Log your reading from an Apple Watch

ReadingRate has an Apple Watch app. It shows the books you have in progress with a progress ring for each, lets you log the page you reached, and takes a dictated quote straight from your wrist — because the moment you stop reading is rarely a moment you want to pick up a phone.

Available on iOS.

Friction at the moment of logging is what kills a reading log. The gap between closing a book and opening an app is where the habit dies, and a watch closes it to about two seconds.

There are home-screen widgets and a Live Activity for the reading timer too, so a session in progress stays visible without opening anything.

What it can't do

  • Apple Watch only. There is no Wear OS app, and no Android app at all.
  • The Watch is for capture rather than review — analytics, quotes and the catalogue live on the phone and the web.
