Pull your Readwise highlights in
Paste a Readwise API token and every highlight you have saved from a book arrives in ReadingRate as a quote — the passage, your note, the date you highlighted it, and its Readwise tags kept as themes. Books you don't have yet are created in your library so the highlights have somewhere to live. Run it again whenever you like: highlights already imported are skipped, and after the first sync it only fetches what has changed. This is in the web app.

Readwise is where highlights land. It is not where they get connected to a reading history, and that is the gap this closes: once a passage is here it joins the same theme tagging and cross-book connections as a quote you saved by hand or dictated aloud.
Each highlight keeps its Readwise identifier, which is what makes repeat syncs safe. There is no penalty for pressing sync twice, and no growing pile of duplicates.
What it can't do
- Books only. Readwise Reader articles, tweets, podcasts and PDFs are skipped.
- Kindle highlights record a location rather than a page number. Those are left blank instead of being converted into a page number that would be wrong.
- Highlight colours, source links and images do not come across. The text, your note, the tags and the date do.
- Up to 5,000 highlights in one run. Anything beyond that arrives on the next sync.
- It reads from Readwise and never writes back. Quotes you save in ReadingRate stay here.
- You start each sync yourself. There is no automatic schedule.
- Books are matched to the catalogue by title alone, so two different books sharing a title can end up merged.
- This is the web app. The iOS app has no Readwise sync.
