Read EPUBs inside ReadingRate
You can upload an EPUB and read it inside ReadingRate rather than tracking a book you're reading somewhere else. Highlights become quotes with the exact wording preserved, progress updates as you read rather than needing to be logged, and the book's text becomes searchable — which is what lets a quote you dictate be corrected against the real sentence.
Available on web and iOS.
The gap this closes is between reading and recording. When the tracker and the book are separate things, logging is an interruption; when they are the same thing, progress is a by-product of reading.
Having the text also makes several other features honest rather than approximate. Dictated quotes can be matched against the actual passage instead of guessed at, and an assistant asked to find textual evidence for an interpretation has something real to search.
What it can't do
- EPUB only. There is no PDF or Kindle-format reader.
- You supply the file. ReadingRate does not sell or lend books.
- Processing a large book takes a few minutes before its text is searchable.
Questions people ask
- Can I read books inside ReadingRate?
- Yes. Upload an EPUB and read it in the app; highlights are saved as quotes and progress is tracked as you read rather than logged by hand.
