Alejandro Zambra is a Chilean writer whose spare, formally inventive novels and stories explore memory, family, and the legacy of the Pinochet dictatorship. He began as a poet before turning to fiction with Bonsai and The Private Lives of Trees. His works include Ways of Going Home, My Documents, Multiple Choice, and Chilean Poet.
