Alice Munro

Alice Munro mastered the short story as few writers have. Her collections mapped small-town Ontario while exploring universal themes of desire, regret, and time's passage. The 2009 International Booker Prize and 2013 Nobel Prize in Literature recognized her as "master of the contemporary short story." Munro died in 2024, leaving work that transformed her form.
