Anuradha Roy won the 2016 DSC Prize for South Asian Literature for "Sleeping on Jupiter," a novel about a group of travelers whose paths cross at a temple town on India's eastern coast. The Indian author writes about contemporary India with particular attention to women navigating tradition and independence. Her fiction examines how places shape consciousness and how violence echoes through ordinary lives.
