Chinese-Canadian
Bei Lin is a Chinese Canadian novelist based in Vancouver. She has lived on three continents and visited more than thirty countries, and the mileage shows: her first novel, From Beijing, with Love, is a contemporary romance that carries its characters between China and the West. She writes toward the happily-ever-after without apology — giving her characters the ending they have earned is the point, not a concession to the genre. Food matters as much as travel in her work and in her life; when she is not writing she is planning the next trip and eating chocolate cake.
