Blaise Pascal was a French mathematician, physicist, inventor, philosopher, and theologian. A child prodigy in mathematics, he made important contributions to geometry, probability theory, and the physics of fluids. His Provincial Letters and Pensées are landmarks of French prose and Christian apologetics.
