Bruce King is an American scholar and the author of major critical studies of V.S. Naipaul, Derek Walcott, and West Indian literature more broadly. His edited volume West Indian Literature (1979) was the first systematic critical survey of the field, and his subsequent monographs on Walcott and Naipaul remain essential references. King has taught at universities in North America, Europe, and Africa.
