C. T. Hsia

C. T. Hsia (Hsia Chih-tsing) was Professor of Chinese Literature at Columbia University and the founder of modern Chinese literary criticism in English. His two major works — A History of Modern Chinese Fiction and The Classic Chinese Novel — established the critical frameworks within which Chinese literature is still taught and evaluated in the Western academy.
