Carley Fortune is a Canadian author of contemporary romance novels. She worked as a journalist and editor in Toronto, including at Refinery29 Canada and the Toronto Star, before turning to fiction. Her debut, Every Summer After (2022), follows a woman who returns to a lake house in Barry's Bay, Ontario, the town where Fortune grew up. It became an international bestseller and was translated widely. She followed it with Meet Me at the Lake (2023), Our Perfect Storm (2024), which debuted at number one on the New York Times list, and One Golden Summer (2025). Her books are set in Ontario and center on second chances, memory and slow-burning attraction. Fortune helped bring Canadian small-town settings into mainstream romance, and her work has drawn a large readership across North America and Europe. Prime Video has adapted Every Summer After for television.
