Celeste Ng writes about families that look perfect until you look closer. Born in Pittsburgh in 1980 to Chinese immigrant parents, she grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio—the planned community that would become the setting of her second novel. She studied English at Harvard and earned her MFA from Michigan. Everything I Never Told You (2014) announced her as a writer of quiet devastation; Little Fires Everywhere (2017) became a bestseller and Hulu series. Our Missing Hearts (2022) took on dystopia. Her work returns to themes of belonging, motherhood, and the lies families tell themselves.
