David Der-wei Wang is Edward C. Henderson Professor of Chinese Literature at Harvard University and one of the most influential scholars of modern and contemporary Chinese literature. His books on late Qing fiction, modern Chinese narrative, and sinophone literature have shaped how the field is theorized and taught. He coined the term 'sinophone literature' as a framework for Chinese writing across Taiwan, the mainland, Hong Kong, and the diaspora.
