David Grossman

American · b. 1954

David Grossman won the 2017 International Booker Prize for "A Horse Walks into a Bar," following a comedian's devastating performance. An Israeli novelist and peace activist, Grossman writes about conflict's personal costs. His son Uri died in the 2006 Lebanon War during the writing of "To the End of the Land." Grossman proves that political commitment and literary art can coexist.
