David R. McCann is Korea Foundation Professor of Korean Literature at Harvard University and the leading American translator and scholar of Korean poetry. His translations of sijo and modern Korean poetry and his critical studies of Korean literature have been central to the field's development in North America. He is the author of Early Korean Literature and Form and Freedom in Korean Poetry.
