Douglas Hofstadter is an American scholar of cognitive science, physics, and comparative literature. His Pulitzer-winning Gödel, Escher, Bach explores the nature of intelligence and consciousness through the lens of mathematical logic, art, and music. He is College Professor of Cognitive Science and Computer Science at Indiana University.
