Eugene Vodolazkin is a Russian novelist and scholar of medieval Russian literature at the Pushkin House in St. Petersburg. His novel Laurus, which draws on his academic expertise in medieval texts, became a bestseller in Russia and won the Big Book Prize. His subsequent novels include The Aviator and Brisbane.
