German · 1770–1831

G. W. F. Hegel was a German philosopher and one of the most influential thinkers in the Western tradition. His system of absolute idealism, developed across works including the Phenomenology of Spirit, the Science of Logic, and the Philosophy of Right, shaped virtually every subsequent philosophical movement from Marxism to existentialism to pragmatism.
