Gerard Carruthers is Francis Hutcheson Chair of Scottish Literature at the University of Glasgow and General Editor of the Oxford Collected Works of Robert Burns. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, he is the leading authority on Robert Burns and a central figure in contemporary Scottish literary studies.
