Geza Ottlik was a Hungarian novelist, translator, and bridge theorist who published only one completed novel — School at the Frontier — but made it one of the most important works of twentieth-century Hungarian literature. He also translated English-language literature into Hungarian and was known for his perfectionism, spending decades revising his work.
