Jackie Kay is a Scottish poet, novelist, and memoirist. She served as Scotland's national poet (Scots Makar) from 2016 to 2021. Her work explores identity, adoption, race, and sexuality. Trumpet, her debut novel, won the Guardian Fiction Prize.
