Jen Sincero is an American author, speaker and success coach. Before writing books she worked in the music business, including a stint managing a rock band, and she wrote for magazines and published a memoir-style humor book, The Straight Girl's Guide to Sleeping with Chicks, in 2003. She later became a career and life coach and built a following with a profane, funny style of advice. Her breakthrough was You Are a Badass (2013), a self-help bestseller that spent years on bestseller lists and sold millions of copies worldwide. She followed it with You Are a Badass at Making Money (2017), You Are a Badass Every Day (2018) and Badass Habits (2019). Her books mix stories from her own broke years with client anecdotes, pop-spiritual ideas and short exercises. They matter because they helped popularize an irreverent, conversational style of self-help aimed at readers who dislike solemn guru writing.
