John Brunner was a prolific British SF author whose 'Club of Rome' quartet—Stand on Zanzibar, The Jagged Orbit, The Sheep Look Up, and The Shockwave Rider—applied Dos Passos-style modernist techniques to dystopian social extrapolation. Stand on Zanzibar won the Hugo Award.
