John McPhee is an American writer of creative nonfiction and a staff writer at The New Yorker since 1965. His more than thirty books cover subjects ranging from geology and nuclear physics to oranges and canoes. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Annals of the Former World and is widely regarded as one of the founders of the modern literary nonfiction genre.
