Katja Gloger is a German journalist and author. She worked for many years as a reporter and editor at the magazine Stern, where she served as its Moscow correspondent and wrote about Russia and Eastern Europe. She also reported on the United States. Her books include a biography of Vladimir Putin, Putins Welt, which looks at how Putin's worldview was formed and how he holds power. In Das Versagen, written with Georg Mascolo, she traces decades of German policy toward Russia and argues that clear warnings were ignored, drawing on documents, interviews and files. Her work is aimed at general readers and rests on reporting rather than theory. She has received journalism awards and takes part in public debates on German-Russian relations.
