Kerry Barrett is a British novelist and journalist who specializes in dual-timeline fiction, in which a present-day character uncovers a mystery rooted in the past. A lifelong reader, she studied English Literature before training as a journalist, and spent more than a decade as features editor of All About Soap, writing about British television soap operas. She published her first novel, Like a Charm, in 2013, and has since written numerous historical and contemporary novels, including The Bookshop of Secrets, set partly in wartime Lisbon. Under the pen name Posy Lovell, she has also written historical sagas set around Kew Gardens and a Singer sewing-machine factory, and she has written two novelisations tied to the soap opera Emmerdale. She lives in London with her husband and two teenage sons, and continues to write about television alongside her fiction.
