Lewis Carroll was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, a mathematics lecturer at Christ Church, Oxford, who wrote Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. He was also a logician, photographer, and Anglican deacon. His nonsense literature has had an enduring influence on philosophy, linguistics, and popular culture.
