"A Children's Bible" (2020) was a Pulitzer finalist: teenagers at a summer house watch their parents drink while climate catastrophe closes in. "Sweet Lamb of Heaven" (2016) is a creepy thriller about a mother fleeing her husband, who may or may not be possessed. Millet works for the Center for Biological Diversity; her activism and fiction share an urgency about what is being lost.
