Natalia Ginzburg was an Italian novelist, essayist, and politician. Born Natalia Levi in Palermo and raised in Turin, she was central to Italian literary life in the postwar period, working as an editor at Einaudi. Her works include Family Lexicon, The Dry Heart, and the essay collection The Little Virtues. Her writing is characterized by its spare, conversational style and its attention to the textures of ordinary life.
