Noël Carroll is an American philosopher specializing in the philosophy of art, aesthetics, and the philosophy of film. He has taught at Cornell, Wisconsin, and CUNY, and has published extensively on film, horror, humor, and narrative. He is one of the most prolific figures in analytic aesthetics.
