Peter Dronke was a British medievalist at Cambridge who specialized in medieval Latin and vernacular lyric, drama, and philosophy. His studies of women writers in the Middle Ages, the Carmina Burana, and the lyric tradition are foundational works of the field. He was the author of more than twenty books and held a personal chair at Cambridge.
