Pierre Lemaitre won the Prix Goncourt in 2013 for "See You Up There," a novel about two French soldiers surviving World War I only to face another kind of devastation. Lemaitre began writing crime fiction; his literary turn proved he could do both. The novel was adapted into an acclaimed film.
