Pirateaba is the pseudonymous author of The Wandering Inn, a serialized LitRPG fantasy web novel begun in 2016 that has grown to tens of millions of words, making it one of the longest-running and longest works of web fiction. The story follows Erin Solstice, an ordinary young woman transported to a fantasy world, who opens an inn that becomes a hub for the setting's sprawling cast of adventurers, monsters, and Innworld politics. Pirateaba built a large, dedicated readership through Patreon and Royal Road before the series was picked up for print, ebook, and audiobook release, along with a spinoff webcomic. They also write The Last Tide and The Singer of Terandria within the same universe. Pirateaba has deliberately kept their real name and background private, communicating with readers mainly through the story itself and its author's notes.
