Rawi Hage won the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award for "De Niro's Game" (2006), a novel about two friends in Beirut during the civil war—one who stays, one who leaves. Hage was born in Lebanon and lives in Montreal. His fiction explores violence, exile, and the immigrant's double vision.
