Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish novelist, essayist, and travel writer whose Treasure Island, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and Kidnapped remain cornerstones of English-language fiction. He spent his final years in Samoa, where he is buried.
