Robert Olen Butler won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1993 for "A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain," a story collection about Vietnamese immigrants in Louisiana. Butler served in Vietnam as an Army intelligence officer. His stories give voice to a community American fiction had ignored.
