Robert Penn Warren won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1947 for "All the King's Men," a novel about a Southern demagogue modeled on Huey Long. Warren also won two Pulitzers for poetry, becoming the only writer to win in both categories. He was America's first Poet Laureate.
