Robert Silverberg is an American science fiction writer whose career spans six decades and hundreds of novels and stories. His work in the late 1960s and 1970s — including Dying Inside, The Book of Skulls, and Thorns — transformed him from a prolific genre craftsman into one of science fiction's most literary practitioners. He has won five Hugo and five Nebula Awards.
