Rose Dommu is a writer, podcaster, and former magazine editor whose debut novel, Best Woman (2025), reimagines My Best Friend's Wedding with a trans narrator confronting her Florida hometown and an old high-school crush. Dommu grew up in Florida, came out as gay at fourteen, and moved to New York City in 2008, where she later came out as trans. She built her career in queer media as a senior staff writer and podcast host at Out magazine, then went on to manage LGBTQ+ social media editorial strategy at Netflix. She co-founded the queer art collective The Culture Whore, which staged large-scale events across the United States and Europe, and continues to write the Substack newsletter Mall Goth and host the podcast Like a Virgin. Best Woman, praised by Publishers Weekly for its "pitch-perfect" comic voice and named a best book of the year by them. and Book Riot, marks her arrival as a novelist after more than a decade as one of trans media's sharpest cultural commentators.
