Sabry Hafez is an Egyptian literary critic, scholar of Arabic literature, and emeritus professor at SOAS University of London. His scholarship has focused on the Arabic novel, short story, and the cultural politics of modern Arab identity, and he is a prominent figure in both Arabic and comparative literary studies.
