Scott Lobdell wrote the X-Men through most of the 1990s. He took over Uncanny X-Men in 1991 and stayed for the decade's biggest crossovers — the Age of Apocalypse, the Phalanx Covenant, Onslaught — and with the artist Chris Bachalo created Generation X, a school book for mutant teenagers running alongside the flagship titles. For DC's New 52 he wrote Teen Titans, Superman and Red Hood and the Outlaws. Away from superheroes he scripted Hardy Boys graphic novels for Papercutz, Live Free, Die Hardy! among them, turning Franklin W. Dixon's teenage detectives into a comics serial. He also wrote the screenplay for Happy Death Day, the 2017 slasher in which a college student relives the day of her murder until she can name her killer; the film cost under five million dollars and took more than a hundred. Lobdell was born in Marlboro, New York in 1960.
