Shahrnush Parsipur is an Iranian novelist whose works combine magical realism with feminist social critique. Her novel Women Without Men was banned in Iran, leading to her imprisonment. She has lived in exile in the United States since 1994. Her work explores the intersection of mythology, politics, and women's experience in Iranian society.
