Sherman Alexie won the PEN/Faulkner Award in 2010 for "War Dances," a collection mixing poetry and prose about Native American experience. Alexie grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation and writes about contemporary Indian life with humor and anger. "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven" and "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" established his voice.
