Siddhartha Mukherjee is an Indian-American oncologist, biologist, and author who teaches at Columbia University. The Emperor of All Maladies won the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction and was adapted into a Ken Burns documentary. His subsequent book The Gene: An Intimate History continued his project of making medical science accessible and compelling.
