T.H. White spent much of his life in rural England and Ireland, hawking, fishing, and rewriting Arthurian legend. His masterwork The Once and Future King transformed Malory's Morte d'Arthur into a modern meditation on war, governance, and human nature, written across two decades as fascism rose and fell in Europe.
