Tarjei Vesaas was one of Norway's greatest twentieth-century writers, known for his lyrical, psychologically intense novels written in Nynorsk. His major works include The Ice Palace, The Birds, and The Seed, which explore human vulnerability, nature, and the boundaries of language through spare, poetic prose.
