Thomas M. Disch was an American science fiction writer, poet, and critic whose intellectually ambitious works challenged genre conventions. His novels Camp Concentration and 334 are considered landmarks of literary science fiction. He also wrote poetry, opera libretti, children's books, and the influential critical study The Dreams Our Stuff Is Made Of.
