Tsitsi Dangarembga's "This Mournable Body" (2020) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize—the final volume of a trilogy following Tambu from colonial Rhodesia through independent Zimbabwe. "Nervous Conditions" (1988), the first novel, is considered a classic of African literature. Dangarembga is also a filmmaker and activist.
