Twyla Tharp is an American dancer and choreographer who founded her own dance company in 1965 and has created works for the Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Broadway. She is the recipient of a Tony Award, two Emmy Awards, and numerous other honors for her contributions to dance.
